Spring really is just around the corner

Friday is the first day of Spring and it is also my darling daughter's birthday. What a wonderful day to celebrate. This winter has not been cold at all, here in the south  but as always it is so dark. I just love this time of the year when we are getting more daylight in the evenings and the day does not seem to end at 3.30pm. In fact last night it was still light at 6pm. It will be so invigorating to come home from work and get out into the garden before dinner.
There is an explosion of gorgeous daffodils everywhere.
These are just a few of the drifts I walk past on the way home from work, they all nod to me so gracefully.
As well as camellia and iris

My tulips are not in flower yet but are peeping up in their pots and no doubt will do soon. I have also seen my buds on the magnolia filling up...so much new life.

My challenge piece today is a spring tag inspired by these bold colours. I stamped my tulip stamp onto a book page. The theme over at PaperArtsy is Deconstruction, using things for a different purpose. My Hb's A tale of Two cities was certainly not printed with my stamping in mind!
I used alcohols inks to alter a dragonfly charm

I blended some  Distress inks onto my tag and then added a couple of flicks of water, one of my favourite Tim techniques.  I added some leaf stamping for some extra texture. I over stamped my Visible Image butterfly stamp which I embossed and coloured with DIs.
Here is my tag
and a couple of close ups
I added some remnant rubs words too

I would like to enter my tag into the following challenges;

PaperArtsy deconstruction #5
A Vintage Journey anything Tim
Art with Heart Go green
Bunny Zoe spring colours
Craft Stamper take it make it anything goes
That Craft Place add a charm

Inspiration Journal spring flowers
Penny Black and More blossoms and bows
Stamp and CreateIs it Spring yet?

Just 2 more sleeps and spring will have sprung, woop woop!

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Jane x
